Malachi Smith, 18, and Kahlil Hill, 18, both of Columbia, were charged with armed robbery, robbery, assault, motor vehicle theft, and theft, Howard County Police said.

Meanwhile, a 17-year-old Aberdeen boy was charged as an adult with the same offenses, and a 15-year-old Columbia boy was charged as a juvenile in the robbery, according to police.

The four suspects are accused of meeting up with two teen boys to buy marijuana on the 7600 block of Woodpark Lane before wielding handguns, assaulting the teens, and stealing their belongings and vehicle on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, police said.

Officers arresting the suspects at their homes recovered three handguns — including one made from parts — as well as a rifle, a shotgun, more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition, extended magazines, and approximately two pounds of marijuana, police said.

Additional weapon and drug charges were pending.

Smith, Hill, and the 17-year-old suspect were being held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center.
